Think Product, Not Just Design

A while ago, something clicked for me: it's not enough to just design something pretty.

I used to design clean screens, complete prototypes. But when it came to development, something would happen. Big changes, doubts, misaligned decisions. And it was because I was designing without thinking about the product.

That's when I understood that thinking like a designer isn't always enough. You have to think about the product.

When we design with the logic of the product, everything changes. It's no longer just about how it looks, but how it's used, how it scales, what impact it has. It's less “this looks good” and more “this works well.”

I stopped delivering confusing projects and started delivering clarity. I explain to the team why a decision matters, not just how it looks. I think about the technical effort, the loading speed, the team that builds it. I focus on everyone, designers, developers, clients, speaking the same language: that of the product.

That makes the difference between a design that is implemented... and one that truly lives.

Today, I design less from Figma and more from the user's perspective. And that, curiously, makes everything clearer for everyone.
