We read biographies to understand ourselves

It was only until a few years ago that I got into the habit of tracking what I was reading. You can see the books I've read on my site.

There's no doubt that biographies are among my best genres. I can go deep into understanding someone I admire, and over time I ended up understanding myself.

It is true for me that we read biographies to understand ourselves. I've been through a lot since I was kicked out of my house when I was sixteen. There's a lot of me I don't fully understand and reading biographies has helped me for sure.

Life might be a constant discovery of who we are. Places, people, and experiences, shape us like the water shapes the path where it goes. It's a never-ending chase, we change and then we try to understand who we are, but in the process, we are changing again.

To understand the world, we have first to understand ourselves.
