The Challenge

Monserrate, Bogota’s most iconic tourist attraction, offers a marvellous panoramic view of the city, drawing over 2 million visitors each year. Known for its religious significance, with a historic church at its summit, Monserrate has long been a destination for local pilgrims and international tourists alike. While visitors can access the summit via hiking, funicular, or cable car, growing crowds have led to long wait times, and outdated systems limit ease of access for tourists unfamiliar with local currency.

Looking to modernize, Monserrate faced the challenge of improving visitor flow and enhancing the customer experience. They needed an integrated solution that would streamline ticketing, reduce wait times, and offer a digital experience in line with international tourism standards.

The Solution

Axiacore helped Monserrate to develop a cutting-edge digital platform, transforming the way visitors interact with this historic site. Our solution included a modernized website with online ticketing capabilities, allowing visitors to purchase tickets directly and avoid intermediaries. This online option not only cuts down on queue times but also enhances security by reducing cash handling on-site.

The platform allows guests to plan their visits in advance, select specific time slots, and gain access to exclusive experiences without needing local currency. Complementary experiences, such as photography packages, guided tours, and restaurant reservations are now integrated, making each visit seamless from start to finish.
